We established and incorporated Scaleside Commodity Group in 2018. While sitting on the scale and discussing how we were going to move forward with the new company, this is when we decided the best place for the office was right on site in the scalehouse where we can not only trade but we ourselves can actually test the products we bring into the warehouse.
With our combined 47 years in the industry, we have taken the time now to reflect on what we can do that would separate us from the many other grain handling and trading companies throughout the country. We will move forward with a clear understanding of what's important to our suppliers and customers and making sure that the trust we have built is maintained with honesty and courtesy, we appreciate the opportunity we have been given and respect the fact that everyone has a choice where they sell their products and in turn where they buy their products from. We will keep these core values at the forefront of our day to day business along with a prompt payment schedule.
Darren Guidinger - Grew up on the family farm in Eatonia, Saskatchewan where we had a small feedlot operation and on the farming side we focused on cereal's, pulse's and oilseeds. After attending College in Lethbridge, I worked with Alberta Agriculture for 3 years handling fertilizer trials throughout southern Alberta. I then moved back to the family farm for some time before returning to Lethbridge in 2000 where I started trading commodities. I have always liked the idea of owning a company and with agriculture always being my main focus, it brought me to where I am today.
Ashley Lazar - Grew up on the family farm in Wadena, Saskatchewan where we handled cereal's and pulse's. I then started out in the grain handling business with Sask Wheat Pool moving from the wood crib elevators into the concrete's over the course of 10 years which brought me to Lethbridge in 2004. I moved into trading commodities and managing logistics over the last 14 years. I also looked forward to bringing all I have learned over the past 24 years into my own business, which has now brought me to where I am today.
Taylor Fletcher - Joined Scaleside as our controller in 2019. Taylor brings a strong work ethic along with a background in management and accounting.
Tyson Bosch - Joined Scaleside in 2022 as a marketer. I grew up on a mixed farming operation in the Richmound, Saskatchewan area. After finishing my post secondary in Lethbridge, I then moved on to working with Atco Gas for the next 13 years. With being raised around agriculture, I came back to it with marketing commodities. With over 3 years of marketing experience, I'll also be marketing many of our products we handle.
Our main focus will still be on buying and selling the following commodities:
Wheat/Durum (all classes)
Barley
Rye
Triticale
Canola
Flax
Mustard
Peas
Lentils
Oats
Beans
Screenings of all varieties and all by products
IF ANY PRODUCT IS OFF SPEC FOR ANY REASON, WE HANDLE IT!!
We have an agreement with Mulder Farms which not only allows us to operate out of our office on site but also allows us access to the 20,000mt warehouse. This newly built facility has the ability to efficiently and safely move many different types of commodities and store them separately, which allows us to supply a wide customer base throughout the Feedlot Alley and Western Canada with all of our customer's product needs.
